FAQ’s

  • For cannabis, most agree 62% is a good balance between the desired moisture and the risk of mold. For cigars it can be as high as 72%

  • To add humidity, simply use the included dropper to add a small amount of clean, distilled water to the underside of the cap

Re-application of water may be required

I recommend either Boveda or Boost packs (no personal preference or connection) to help regulate the humidity at a steady level

  • For tobacco or anything else you want to monitor or regulate the humidity

I recommend either Boveda or Boost packs (no personal preference or connection) to help regulate the humidity at a steady level

  • These hygrometers are only accurate within a few percent. They come calibrated from the factory, and I re-calibrate them at sea level to 62% before installation

If you need to adjust them, for now search online for “adjust hygrometer” and you should find the instructions

I will add this detail in a future video

  • We will be adding other models which will use true mason jars soon!

In the event your jar does break, the caps for the Stash-Cask 1.0 are indeed the correct size to fit most regular mouth mason jars

  • Unfortunately, these are glass and glass sometimes breaks

The Stash-Cask 1.0 should continue to work as designed in your own regular-mouth mason jar

  • We don’t currently sell the hygrometers separately. While I can’t vouch for any one supplier, you can find a few options if you search for “28mm Hygrometer” on Amazon

  • Unfortunately, no!

Please keep your Stash-Cask safe and away from children!

  • Keep your your Stash-Cask clean!

Regularly clean the jar with soap and water between uses.

We only use Teak, Mahogany or Spanish Cedar on the inside of the cap as they are traditionally used in cigar humidors due to their inherent resistance to mold. I like to occasionally wipe down the inside of the wood cap with Vodka to prevent any buildup

You may wish to reapply a beeswax & mineral oil polish used for wood salad bowls on the top surface of the wood. FYI a small amount of silicone adhesive has been used to secure the hygrometer to the wood

Stash-Casks are free of bisphenols and formaldehydes found in commercial bamboo and plywood products

  • While developing the Original Mason-Cask I found myself using a prototype as a lid for my stash. It worked great as a handy stash jar, but I found myself wondering about the actual humidity, so I ordered a range of hygrometers until I found one I liked and the Stash-Cask was born

  • I will add items to the store as I make them. You can sign up for notifications when more are available.

Also, we will list here anywhere else you can find them!

  • Do your best to keep your Stash-Cask clean

Do not leave your Stash-Cask in high heat

Do not leave your Stash-Cask in direct sunlight
